Kamurj Privacy Policy
Effective: August 21, 2026
Kamurj is an anonymous-first Armenian reading app. This policy explains what information the Kamurj beta processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you. “Kamurj,” “we,” and “us” refer to the person or entity shown as the app seller in the store where you obtained Kamurj.
What Kamurj processes
Text and linguistic requests
When you paste Armenian text, request a definition, change orthography, or use another reading feature, the text and the requested operation are sent to the Kamurj API so it can return a result. Kamurj does not write pasted passages to a reading history, curated lexicon, or model-training corpus. Do not submit private, confidential, or legally restricted text.
When you ask to hear a word or short phrase, Kamurj sends the Armenian script needed for that request to xAI's API to create synthetic audio. xAI states that API inputs and outputs are retained for up to 30 days by default for abuse and misuse review and are not used to train its models without explicit permission. See xAI's API security information.
Anonymous installation and usage data
Kamurj does not require an account. It creates a random installation identifier and bearer token. The token is kept in secure device storage where supported; the server stores only a one-way hash of it. The server may also keep:
- device platform, creation time, last-seen time, and revocation state;
- daily action type, count, reservation status, and reset date; and
- minimum subscription-entitlement facts, such as whether access is active, its expiration time, and when it was last verified.
This information is used to authenticate the installation, enforce the free daily allowance, prevent abuse, and restore verified subscriber access. It is not a named Kamurj profile.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes purchases and payment details. RevenueCat helps Kamurj read the store entitlement associated with the random installation identifier. Kamurj receives purchase and entitlement status but does not receive or store your full card number. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process information under their own privacy terms.
Optional word-of-day notifications
If you opt in to word-of-day notifications, Kamurj may process an Expo push token, platform, time zone, chosen delivery time, quiet-hours preference, and whether the token remains valid. You can refuse or disable notifications in your device settings without losing the core reading features.
Support messages
If you contact support, we process the address and message you provide, plus any diagnostic details you choose to include. Please do not send payment-card details, bearer tokens, or private passages.
Routine technical data
The app stores and the providers that operate Kamurj's network, hosting, database, billing, push, and synthetic-audio services may process routine technical information such as IP address, timestamps, device or app version, request status, and security logs. Kamurj does not include third-party ads and does not use your reading text for behavioral advertising.
Why Kamurj processes information
We process the minimum information reasonably needed to:
- provide definitions, orthography conversion, synthetic audio, library, and notification features you request;
- operate the anonymous free allowance and verify paid access;
- keep the service secure, reliable, and resistant to abuse;
- answer support and privacy requests; and
- comply with store, tax, accounting, safety, and legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these purposes rely on performing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing it, your consent for optional notifications, and legal obligations.
When information is shared
Kamurj shares information only as needed with service providers that perform the functions described above, including:
- Apple and Google for app distribution and store billing;
- RevenueCat for subscription-entitlement management;
- xAI for requested synthetic audio;
- Expo and the applicable push networks for notifications you enable; and
- the providers used to host the Kamurj API and database.
Those providers process information under their own terms, agreements, and policies. Before launch, Kamurj reviews the provider settings and disclosures used for this beta and configures them consistently with this policy and applicable requirements. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganization with appropriate protections. Kamurj does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and deletion
- Kamurj does not persist pasted passages as a user history or training corpus.
- xAI's stated default API retention is described above.
- Installation, quota, entitlement, notification, security, and transaction records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the beta, fraud and abuse prevention, subscriber access, dispute handling, and applicable legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.
- Support correspondence is kept while the request is active and for a reasonable follow-up period.
Uninstalling Kamurj removes app data from the device according to the operating system, but it does not itself cancel a store subscription or immediately delete server records. To request deletion of server-side data, email support@kamurj.app and include the Anonymous support ID shown on Kamurj's subscription screen. Because Kamurj has no named account, this non-secret ID helps us locate the installation. Never send the bearer token. We may retain limited information where the law requires it or where needed to resolve security, fraud, payment, or legal matters.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to appeal a decision. You may:
- turn notifications off in device settings;
- manage or cancel a subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play;
- avoid submitting text you do not want processed; and
- contact support@kamurj.app with a privacy request.
Kamurj is anonymous-first, so we may not be able to link server records to you without the relevant installation identifier or store information.
Children
Kamurj is a general-audience reading tool, not a children's app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child where parental consent is required. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact us to request review or deletion.
International processing and security
Kamurj and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS in release builds, secure local token storage where supported, and one-way hashing of server authentication tokens. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the beta changes. We will update the effective date and provide any notice required by law. Material new data uses require an updated policy and store disclosure before release.
